Course: Teaching English to Young Learners

Some people believe that it is easy to teach children because they only want to play, it is true that they love to play but they also love to learn and teaching English to them is a very good combination of fun and knowledge. This is a methodology course for teachers who prepare candidates for Cambridge Young Learners examinations. Classes are hands-on and resources and tips are provided.

Tackling Grammar Problems

In Customized Training Services we are aware that we, teachers, need to have a very good command of the language we teach since-as everything in life-we cannot give what we do not have. For this reason we have created these courses to support all those who need to consolidate their knowledge of some difficult or confusing grammatical structures. As usual, we provide personalized feedback.

Levels B2+ and C1 are already sold out but there are still a few seats for the other two (B1 and B2).

We look forward to seeing you there.

B2 level of proficiency

In this competitive world, we need to demonstrate qualities that make us better than other candidates whether we want to live, study or work in an English speaking environment or improve our academic skills. Knowing a foreign language, particularly English is, besides being computer literate, a very important asset.

To demonstrate the ability to understand the main ideas of complex texts, to interact fluently with native speakers and produce clear texts on a wide range of subjects we need to get at least a B2 level of proficiency.
In this chart we can see how useful it is to achieve this Independent level =Upper Intermediate (B2First) for the above reasons and also if you are interested in pursuing a good IELTS score.

CTS Academic activities August-November 20202

2020 is a year to remember. Most of us had to learn new skills or adapt them to meet the challenges of lockdown, social distance and online work. In CTS we have tried to meet the expectations of our colleagues, our CTS family, and for that reason since March  we have been reading, attending courses, seminars and workshops trying to learn as much as possible about the different issues involved in teaching online to share it with them.

The video below summarizes the activities we ran from August to November.

Digital Portfolios Seminar to support children in need

Digital portfolios provide students with a nice way to show examples of their best work and the process of developing that work. In this event we will develop this issue and will also present some tools for creating digital portfolios.

All the proceeds will be used to organize a Christmas celebration for the children of El Paraíso, a community in Villa María del Triunfo and a community kitchen in AAHH Saúl Cantoral in San Juan de Lurigancho.

FIRST WINTER COURSE FOR TOP ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS

July was a wonderful month. In CTS we have been offering blended learning courses but in July we decided that it was already time for a full online course...and so we did.

This First Winter Course -fully online- lasted two weeks and it consisted of two modules: Adapting and preparing material using 21st Century approaches and How to teach Grammar with emphasis on Communicative and Cognitive Skills.

The information was presented through webinars and Prezi presentations and we used a Learning Management System to keep track of all the consolidation activities that participants needed to satisfactorily complete in order to receive their Certificate of Participation.

In CTS we believe in hard work and the investment that participants make in our courses. This is why we always provide input and opportunities for output since we need to make sure that our participants are taking away useful ideas, techniques and strategies to improve their teaching practice.

This has been a wonderful experience and we look forward to offering more online courses to meet some of our teachers of English needs.

XV CTS Academic Facebook Event

Continuing with our policy of exchanging ideas with our colleagues, it is a real pleasure to announce our XV CTS Facebook event, Improving our Teaching Skills, where two workshops will be run:  Developing Soft skills for teachers and Writing to be Read: Using templates.

For these workshops, we will be using working stations again, so everybody will have the chance to produce different kinds of texts and take useful material home.

We look forward to meeting you.

XII Facebook event

Each of these Facebook events is special but this last one was even more so because we had a new presenter, Ms Laura Marsh, the Academic Coordinator of Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya and also because it was the last event in NUTESA premises. NUTESA is a very old friend of ours and have always supported our academic initiatives providing not only the premises but also the coffee breaks, book exhibitions and prizes. We will be forever in debt with them.

The video below shows a summary of our XII Facebook event, get ready because there is more to come.!

Closing event 2016

Our IX Facebook event will also be our closing event of the year. We have done quite a lot along this year and would like to take advantage of this event to thank you because you are the ones who inspire us to be better.

As usual, attending your requests, we have prepared an interesting workshop on the skills needed for the 21st century so as to finish the year with some reflections on what we have done and some expectations of what we should be looking forward to next year.

On Saturday 5th, we will  also thank the teachers who attended all Facebook events during this year, we will hand out the last TKT Certificates  and will give a little token of our appreciation to all attendees.

I prepared a short video on some of the topics we presented this year and while choosing the photos to accompany the topics, I could see that many of you have accompanied us almost all year long.

Thanks very much for your trust, your company and for helping us to pursue our goal of contributing to the professional development of our friends.

Ninth Academic Facebook Event

I cannot believe it is that time of the year again!!!
The end of our Academic year and our last Facebook event. To close this year and get ready for the new one, we had been requested to present something on the skills needed for the 21st century and so we are going to do.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

CTS VIII Facebook event was held last August 13th at Centro Empresarial Pardo. It was delightful to see so many people interested in knowing about the new trends. We developed Mindsets, Creativity and Innovation and the Flipped Classroom as some of the latest trends in ELT.

We also worked in stations and some team leaders were chosen from the audience. It was great to see participants involved in all the activities and looking forward to meeting in the next event.

Enjoy the video of the event!
