Super Intensive Course for B1 Preliminary

 Qué significa esta calificación? Este certificado muestra que ya dominas los fundamentos de Inglés a nivel pre-intermedio y que has adquirido habilidades del idioma para el uso diario. Constituye un acercamiento más hacia el B2 First que es el examen de nivel intermedio, certificación a la que podrías acceder con mayor posibilidades de éxito despues de este nivel B1.

Al obtener el B1 Preliminary, te familiarizas con el tipo de preguntas que vienen en los niveles B2 First y C1 Advanced y adquieres también las destrezas para dar exámenes internacionales según el Marco Europeo Común. 

What does this qualification mean? It means that you have mastered the foundations of English at a pre-intermediate level and has already acquired the language skills for everyday use. It certainly helps you approach the B2First Intermediate and provide you with more possibilities of success since you become familiar with the tasks and the tips of these exams.

In Customized Training Services we consider our training students as family members. When the Pandemic made us change our style of giving instructions we were there to help teachers to learn the ropes of remote learning. 

Nowadays, when teaching online is a current way of teaching, we support our CTS family with more language and methodology activities. We care and that´s why we share.

The rippling effect

This year has been absolutely surreal. Our country ranks among the ones with the higher number of Corona virus infections and life outside home is like taking part in a science fiction film. 

I have not left home since quarantine started 3 and a half months ago but I am not planning to leave now that it has ended since it is not safe out there due to the number of people who leave and pretend to act as if there is no risk.

However, we have been running online courses during May and June supporting our CTS family and hoping they will share what they learned among their colleagues in their institutions. Here is a video summarising what we did in CTS Peru.

XX CTS Academic Event

Correction is a question of balance, students know they need help to support their learning. This workshop will help you to choose when and how to correct and what approaches to take. It will also provide some useful tips to guide you through the skill of correcting errors.  

Some mementos of our last Academic Event

On May 25th, Customized Training Services held our XIX Academic Event. We need to thank all those who made this possible: our participants, Macmillan, NUTESA and our two lecturers Ms. Liliana Burga and Ms Ellen Berry. Special thanks to RELO Andes for their FORUM magazines and for allowing the participation of their fellow Ms Ellen Berry. 

CTS Academic event

On May 25, Customized Training Services will offer its XIX Academic event. The theme of this year is Evaluation so it is natural to develop the two sessions on providing feedback as part of Formative Assessment. 

The first session will be about Feedback for Writing and the second about Feedback for Speaking. We have the pleasure to count on the expertise of Ms Ellen Burry, English Language Fellow (RELO Andes)  and Ms Liliana Burga, a teacher with many years of experience. 

As always, we keep the number of attendees short because our workshops are hands-on and we really want our CTS family to take full advantage of these events so hurry and register as soon as possible. 

Pre-FCE Online Course

Official international Certificates are a very useful tool to study abroad or to demonstrate a specific Language level when applying for a job. In the job field some of the most commonly required Certificates are the ones issued by Cambridge Assessment English, particularly B2: First (previously known as FCE).

Over five million people in the world sit for Cambridge exams which measure basic skills when using a language: reading, listening, speaking and writing. First thing to do before becoming familiar with the exam structure is to reach the required level of proficiency in the language. That is why we have designed this Pre-FCE course where we will present and practice some of the most important language structures that are being assessed in the B2: First exam. Therefore, taking this course will allow participants to kill two birds with one stone: improve their Grammar proficiency and advance in their exam preparation. We can help you, contact us.

Due to the success of the XVII event on Formative Assessment and Elaboration of Rubrics, we have been asked to open a short course on Elaboration of Rubrics. We are sure you will find it pretty useful.

Tools for Formative Assessment

This session will have two parts: the First Part will be about strategies and tools for formative assessment and the second will help participants with the preparation of Rubrics. In both cases we will be taken into account the recent guidelines given by MINEDU.
