Always remember:

The value of time, the success of perseverance, the worth of character, the power of kindness, the influence of example, and the obligation of duty.

Improving our Online teaching - August 2020

More on Improving our Online Teaching

In Customized Training Services we consider our training students as family members. When the Pandemic made us change our style of giving instructions we were there to help teachers to learn the ropes of remote learning.

Nowadays, when teaching online is a current way of teaching, we support our CTS family with more language and methodology activities. We care and that´s why we share.
Here is a video with a list of the courses and workshops we ran in August.

XXII CTS Academic Event

The beginning of the new year is traditionally a popular time to tackle difficult tasks such as losing weight, or fulfilling worldly ambitions. But the transition from year to year can also be an opportune occasion to pursue emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth. Towards this end Customized Training Services has prepared a series of events that involve learning new skills to support our professional development as well as to support students with learning difficulties. This XXII event is the first of them.

Some mementos of our last Academic Event

On May 25th, Customized Training Services held our XIX Academic Event. We need to thank all those who made this possible: our participants, Macmillan, NUTESA and our two lecturers Ms. Liliana Burga and Ms Ellen Berry. Special thanks to RELO Andes for their FORUM magazines and for allowing the participation of their fellow Ms Ellen Berry.

Sixth Summer Course

Topics for the Sixth Summer Course for Top English Language Teachers - 2019

The topics of our Sixth Summer Course rely on the principles for teaching in the 21st Century. We cannot teach in the same way we learned the language when we first encountered it. The demands of the new Century oblige us to cater for different needs and perhaps, one of the most important ones is to create an environment that is conducive to learning.
In this Module we will deal with learning strategies, learning styles and multiple intelligences to make differentiation a useful criteria for helping our students learn and use the recently acquired knowledge.

Communication really matters!. In fact, it is one of the four Cs of education in the 21st Century and it takes place in so many ways that we need to catch up with the different purposes and tools that are currently in use so as to communicate for global understanding.

If teaching in the 21st Century implies the development of the four C´s (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Creativity), it also implies the development of information and media literacy for which we need to use the tools available through connectivity. There are free tools we can exploit to introduce the real world in our classrooms so as to make language learning really meaningful and memorable.

All this came to our minds when we decided and surveyed the possible topics for our 2019 Summer Course. As usual, CTS demands  full commitment for this hands-on event and provides plenty of time for putting into practice what students have just been introduced.

Welcome to this interesting and useful event!!!

Ninth Academic Facebook Event

I cannot believe it is that time of the year again!!!
The end of our Academic year and our last Facebook event. To close this year and get ready for the new one, we had been requested to present something on the skills needed for the 21st century and so we are going to do.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

Comments on the VIII Facebook Event: Latest Trends in ELT

How silly of me! I had written these comments so long ago that I forgot to post them.

What a pleasure it was to develop this workshop. All participants were so cooperative and eager to participate that it was a thrill to be there. When they were asked to complete the consensogram on how much they knew about The Flipped Classroom, Mindsets in Education and Creativity and Innovation, their responses provided clear indication that the choice of the topic had been well made. The participants who volunteered for leading teams were- to a large extent- very much responsible for the success of the event. My deepest gratitude to them.

More than once I have been asked why I keep taking part in these workshops, I always find the answer in the interaction with the teachers and in our sharing since we all come from similar backgrounds.

I am certainly looking forward to the next event.
